Miniera Lab is the mining museum of Cave del Predil, a small village in the municipality of Tarvisio, formerly home to one of the most important lead and zinc mines in Europe. The mine remained in operation until 1991 and is now partly open to visitors in the Raibl Geo-mineral Park. The Miniera Lab exhibition is the result of important research work. It traces the history of the locality and its inhabitants in relation to mining, focusing on episodes and evidence of the miners’ work and on the events that marked the development and finally the closure of the mine.
