The new company of friends proceeded at the bear‘s pace to the home of the king of the forest, when some dry and regular noises, followed by loud crashes attracted their attention. Arthur followed the origin of those
noises until he came face to face with an army of people intent on cutting trees without authorisation. „I hope you have a permit to log the trees here,“ Arthur told them. „A permit?“ replied what looked like the boss,
„I don‘t even have a permit to slap you, but that‘s what I‘ll do if you keep bothering me.“
„We’ll see. Meanwhile, you can‘t cut down just any tree down, so unscrupulously.
Our lumberjacks know well that there is an equilibrium in the forest, as there is a balance in the world and within each one of you. Your actions are upsetting this equilibrium and so the world will end up getting sick, just like a virus can upset your biological balance and make you ill. Do you want your children to grow up in a sick world? In a world without trees and, therefore, without oxygen?“
„You‘re right boy,“ said the big man in a sorry tone „we can do the same job, but without harming anyone. But...are you really a kid? Or are you a creature of the woods?“ he urged him again. Arthur smiled mockingly
and, without answering, he jumped on the bear‘s back and together they disappeared into the forest.
